Villa Serendib was born from a singular vision: to create a sanctuary where luxury never feels performative, where service feels like friendship, and where every guest leaves feeling genuinely transformed. Nestled between the lush tropical gardens and the azure waters of Sri Lanka's south coast, the estate was designed as a living meditation on beauty, intention, and belonging.

Six Years of Crafting
the Extraordinary

What began as a century-old colonial estate in disrepair became, through years of patient restoration, one of the most celebrated private villas on the island. Our founders spent three years restoring every archway, sourcing artisans from across Sri Lanka to breathe new life into the original structure while honouring its soul.

2015

The Discovery

A century-old colonial estate is found along the Galle coastline and the vision begins to take shape.

2016

Restoration Begins

Master craftsmen and architects begin a meticulous, two-year restoration of the original structure.

2018

Doors Open

Villa Serendib opens its doors to its first guests. Within months, it is named one of Asia's finest new luxury escapes.

2023

Recognition & Growth

Awarded 'Best Boutique Villa, Indian Ocean' and welcomed our 2,000th guest — with the same care as the very first.
